Give the gift of education to future Perseans
The Leavers’ Gift is a departing gift from the families of Upper Sixth Leavers to the Bursary and Hardship fund. This collective effort supports future Perseans, enabling them to benefit from the same education and opportunities that the Class of 2024 have experienced. The Leavers’ Gift is now in its seventh year, with over a total of £300,000 having been raised in this time in support of bursaries at The Perse.
We are combining this year's Leavers' Gift with the School's Giving Day campaign to maximise the impact of your donations.
About Perse Bursaries
All Perse Bursaries are independently means-tested. They are available to pupils when joining the School, but also to pupils currently enrolled at The Perse whose families face unexpected hardship, such as the death or illness of a parent, or loss of income.
How can my gift help?
Every gift is hugely valued by The Perse. The collective nature of the Leavers’ Gift means that its impact is even greater:
- If everybody leaving Upper Sixth gave £100 it would fund one year’s full bursary place.
- A gift of £225 plus gift aid would pay for lunch for a term.
- Five people giving £1,250 plus gift aid would pay for one term’s full fees.
- A gift of £5,750 plus gift aid would provide a term’s stability to a pupil following the death of a parent.
- A gift of £17,000 plus gift aid would fund one year’s full bursary place.
A collective gift of £50,000 would fund a 100%+ Sixth Form bursary for a pupil joining the School. This would cover not just fees, but also the cost of lunch and a device, as well as an additional credit to help pay for trips and the other elements that make up an excellent Perse education. The Class of 2024 would also be added to the School's major benefactors' board, displayed in the Main Hall.
