About Perse Bursaries
By giving to The Perse bursary fund, you will forever transform the life of a talented young person.
The bursary fund makes an excellent education to young people possible, whatever their background.
For academically gifted children whose families cannot afford school fees, a bursary place can be transformational. Means-tested bursaries cover up to 100% of school fees, as well as support with other costs such as lunches, laptops and trips.
In addition to entrance bursaries, the School provides hardship support. This means pupils can stay in school if their family faces unexpected hardship, such as bereavement or illness.
Your donation today will count towards the gift of education to a child. Investing in the future of young people is the best way to make the world a better place. It does not just transform their lives, but also benefits entire communities. Your support makes this possible.
How you can make a difference
£50 per month could give a bursary recipient the opportunity to take part in Perse Exploration Society trips.
£225 could provide a term's lunches for a bursary recipient, ensuring they are given the nutrition they need to learn.
£1,000 with five others doing the same, could provide a terms’ stability to a pupil following the death of a parent.
Bursary stories
Hear how Perse bursaries have changed the lives of young people.
“I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to come here without a bursary. I’ve always loved learning but I thrived at The Perse as teachers sparked an interest in me and really nourished me as an academic. Neither of my parents went to university and they were so proud when I got into Oxford! The Perse is a school which is about supporting you learning and it doesn’t matter how much money you have - it’s about your academic potential.” – Eve, Old Persean
“The teachers at The Perse are actively engaged and passionate about their subject, which is reflected in their lessons, and they are always willing to go the extra mile for students. I would say to potential donors not to underestimate the value of a student’s life and cherished memories through opportunities that The Perse can provide, which is only possible with their funding. For me, going to The Perse changed my life and I explored so many aspects that I couldn’t even imagine existed until I joined the School. Even if you can only sponsor one person, it still makes a difference. The Perse is an experience that they will remember for life.” – Old Persean
